A Walking Rainbow

Meet Julie, a fantastically fantastic Juxtapose bride.  Here she is with her husband-to-be and their new cute little family...bright, sunshine-y, and full of pep...all at 8:30am on a Saturday.  I LOVED that they all wore bright colors and totally BROUGHT IT as far as personality comes.  We had a blast, though I have an inkling that some of them had a nice long afternoon nap that day.  =)

The kids are really bee-yoo-ti-ful!  So photogenic!  They must have good genes, huh?

Little Nature Baby

I met this little chica and her sweet sweet parents at a birthday party a couple of months ago, and they just HAD to get Juxtaposed.  We met up at Storybook Ranch and had a ball playing with, well, a ball, bubbles, and a little car that goes vrrrrooom.  Even with all of her toys, she still managed to have a blast playing with nature's selection of gravel, weeds, and flowers!  Such a doll, she was!  Seriously...she looks like a real live doll.  =) 

Under My Umbrella

Finished up B-Sessions Part 2 over the past weekend...got rained out on Sunday, so lots o' reschedulin' to do, but for now, I will show ya one brave fam!  Talk about SINGING IN THE RAIN...these folks were down for whatever the heavens dropped upon us, and I was ready to capture it all!

We began at the historic La Salle Hotel in Downtown Bryan, Texas and the staff was oh so kind to accommodate us.  Then, we strolled (when I say stroll, I mean run furiously for cover) from awning to awning and overhang to overhang to play.  I LOVE these clients, and can't wait to see them again!  Talk about laid-back Jacks, they were just so super-cool.  They can stand under my umbrella anytime!

And my personal favorite...I knew it the second I snapped it...and the funny thing is, there is a homeless man sleeping on a bench to the left of that umbrella.  THAT is a DEFINITE FIRST in JP history !

Runnin' With the Wind

Had a family sesh yesterday morning...we met at their neighborhood park and after a little bit o' quick family posey-kinda-stuff, we decided to let the kid get his play on!  He is the same exact age as Millie, so I knew I would have to pull a few tricks out of the bag, but he just flashed his baby blues, and all was right in the world.  These were such sweet people!  Get your sneak peek here!

Flowers, Weeds, & Botanicals

Had a fun Spring Family shoot on Sunday afternoon with some wonderful repeat clients.  The boys have both grown like weeds since I saw them last November.  Both are taller, thinner, and even more expressive than before...and what photographer doesn't love an expressive child? 

We met up at The Fort Worth Botanic Gardens, one of these locals' favorite places.  This fam definitely has roots in Fort Worth.  Both parents are TCU grads (the mom was a Zeta there with me...she was the President of the Zeta Chapter, I was the President of the Den of Slack), and the mom even remembered driving by the Botanic Gardens growing up there.  As all of us were exploring a backwoods kind of area of the gardens, the mom yelled to her older son, "Watch out!  The Botanicals are gonna get ya!"  Apparently, she was afraid of the place when she was little because as her mom drove by it on I-30, she would tell her that this family of elfin-like/semi-evil creatures which I imagine to be like that funky looking monkey thingie from Lord of the Rings actually lived there.  She named them "The Botanicals".  To me, it sounds like the twisted version of The Incredibles , but that is just me, and I have a wild imagination, not unlike our mother here did at a young age.

OK...enough drivel...here they are...no, NOT The Botanicals...my very gorgeous and very fun clients!

When in Rome...

Eat Blue Bell Ice Cream!  After all, it IS the best ice cream in the country, and it was all started right here, in little old Brenham, Texas.

WHOA, These Kids Know How to Strut!

AND, they have never been to modeling camp or the like...or so their gorgeous mother says.  I swear to you, these children were WORKING IT!  Workin' it high, workin' it low, taking direction better than most adults, and having fun all the while.  I have never seen anything like it!  These folks were so easy to photograph that I told them I kinda felt like I should be paying THEM.  They were nice as can be, and were totally along for the ride, which made my job very enjoyable.

We had an absolute blast in Downtown Brenham.  After several wonderful sessions in Independence, TX  and Chappell Hill, it was so much fun to do a session in a slightly more urban environment.  I like to change it up and never get bored!  There are so many images from their session that I could highlight that I am going to do one post today and one tomorrow...so bear with me!  Otay.  Meet your 4th B-Session All-Stars, shakin' what their momma gave them!

Brotherly Love

All righty!  I just finished my THIRD, yes THIRD B-Session today, and I am dog tired.  However, I could not possibly resist showing you more from yesterday's (and the FIRST) B-Session.  These were taken at Mike Shoup's fantastic gardener's haven, The Antique Rose Emporium and Old Baylor Park in Independence, Texas (about 5 minutes from my mom's house).

A Storybook Family

I got a workout on Saturday afternoon.  I'm not kidding.  My legs are sore.  What type of exercise did I do, you ask? 

I chased this little dude, and it was totally worth it!

Yes, I know.  He looks quite innocent, right?  Well, he IS a sweetie, but said sweetie is a cross country running superstar and doesn't even know it!  The Energizer Bunny has nothing on him.  Meet the beautiful family that herds him.

One-Year-Olds Rock!

Yeah, now that Valentine's Day is over, you think you are gonna avoid sweets for a while?  Uh-huh.  Sure.  I don't think so.  Not gonna happen.  Why not, you ask?  'Cause Juxtapose Photography is making you ride the dessert train a bit longer, folks.

Here is a little sack of sugar that just turned 1!  Happy Birthday, Sweetheart, and Congrats to her parents for raising such a beautiful, kind, fun baby girl!

Funny Valentine

On Saturday, I had a super fun session with this couple.  They seem like newlyweds, yet they have been married for 7 years!  So in love, and so yin & yang.  They are true opposites...he is very calm, polite, reserved, focused, and she is well, more like me.  =)  She needs to just put him in a suitcase and go to Hollywood because she is freakin' hilarious and her laughter is infectious.  They couldn't be more different, but they work.  It is beautiful to see the balance before your eyes.  She adores him, and she is his FUNNY VALENTINE.

Cold Kickin' It

I met some kindred spirits of mine today.  They, too, hate the cold.  However, they were AMAZING clients...despite the 40 degree weather, they smiled through their shivers and posed in between prayer to the  sun gods.

They were so sweet...very fun, and very in love with each other...all 3 of them!  I sorta think that the weather was supposed to be as cold as it was today so that I could capture these special snuggles on camera.  Cute, outgoing, and champion cuddlers.  Check them out...feel the love, people!

Tutu Fabulous

Met a sweet family today at a midmorning session.  The little girls were so fun and sweet...and their tutus were just killing me with cuteness, but oh those hot pink boots...they captured my heart in the end.  I asked the 3 year old if she thought they made them in my size and was devastated when she said
so seriously, "No, they are just for kids."  Oh well...I guess I'll just hafta let her be the fabulous one!

Here are some fave photos taken yesterday morning.  The boy was a sweet, nature-loving free spirit...independent, yet still a snuggler...what a wonderful combination.  He was a delight to work with, as were his very gorgeous parents.

This is ONLY one of my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE photographs I have EVER taken, and it just so happens that the subject is my friend Kim's  little darling.  We had a wonderful afternoon shoot today, and I just loved getting to hang with my homie and her precious family.  More to come. 

And yes, I am insanely jealous that those are HER boots and not mine.

Fa-La-La Already!

Well, I did my first Christmas card session yesterday (November 13th and already wearing Christmas plaid), and it went well, I must say.  The lovable family of four soldiered on as I made them walk about a 1/2 mile, slide, swing (all TOGETHER on the SAME swing), play with ducks, do cheerleading stunts and everything short of setting themselves on fire.  Just kidding, but not really.

They were such troopers!  The little boy even was diagnosed with an ear infection today!  Poor little guy.  The daughter of the bunch and I completely bonded over fairies and Ariel and dancing and the list goes on.  She was a true girly girl...and loved to WORK...COVER GIRL...WORK IT, GIRL!

The parents were totally my type of peeps...laid back and game for whatever...ok, "Family o' Four"...next time, I'm bringin' torches, tutus, and hula hoops!

FALL-ing in Love with Their Sweet Girl

Yesterday afternoon, I did a photo shoot with my friend Kendall and her family.  Oh, you could just feel the love!  The way that she and her hubby looked at their little angel...it was so easy to see how very much they adore her...it was palpable!

From throwing leaves into the air to tossing and rolling horse apples, they sure made my job easy.  They took to the fall scenery like it was an old cozy sweater...they snuggled and gave kisses and had a grand old time..despite that they are originally from Florida and it was in the upper 50s.

Tiny Dancer

At yesterday afternoon's photo shoot, I met an 18 month old girl who rivals Millie for the little lady most likely to end up with her name on a Hollywood (or Broadway) marquee.

At each  spot that we decided to stop and take some photos, she put on a little show for the passers-by.  I even suggested to her mom (who was model-beautiful, herself) that we needed to find a bowl or cup for people to throw change into...we could have made a fortune! 

She danced, and sang, and clapped those precious little hands...but oh, the eyelashes were the icing on the cake.  The tiny dancer had Christmas shoppers so jealous that they immediately ran home to put new mascara, faux eyelashes, and a course in eye-batting on their wish lists.  Here she is:
